The 4th team will be taking the field this season. Any thoughts on a snappy name for this band of warriors?
You know, something along the lines of...
Stags
Warriors
Leftovers
Extras
Chuckles
Rodents
c**kerels (this could be abbreviated of course)
Hobbits
Darleks
... I'll stop now before it gets (even more) silly.

Oh get you lot, have you not got any jobs!!!! Thought it was only me who was jobless and p... bored sat at home getting fatter by the day!! And no it's not from sitting on my bottom watching daytime t.v!!! Although some things are worth a little sit down for!!! Mr Web-master please go with Mr Griff's (soon to be nicknamed The Godfather.. hopefully without the headless horse and dodgy Italian accent!!!) idea of c**ks and Hoop's as we have both on our shirt's!!!!  |

Depends how important that chicken was, how much it contributed to being there and whether it's keeper should have looked after it better. If it had been running around like a 'headless chicken' for a long time maybe it decided there were coops elsewhere, where it would be more useful and appreciated....... |

Just to butt into your convo for a moment...
The 4th team (I'm leaning towards calling them our Acadamy XV at the moment) has been entered into the Staffs leagues, so there will be a number of fixtures coming from that.
The RFU has launched a 'Go Play Rugby' campaign that we've signed up to - apparently they predict a 7% uplift on player numbers!
I'd be happy with a 7% uplift in anything to be honest! |

My vast and experienced knowledge of young boys is obviously paying off, cards or no cards. They can obviously see something in me and feel that I must be able to provide it for them (Whatever it is)!!!!!
I hope this group of lads are taken seriously, it would certainly help to make 4th team games a regular event. I would certainly become a supporter at the odd game!!!!!!!!! 
Anyone need a First Aider I know one that hasnt got a job........

ooooh look at you with your finger on the pulse, doing even less work than me. There was me attempting to raise a valid point with a view to getting some people to enter into the discussion and then you come along with your stupid logic, reason and answers and **** it all up!
I am slightly disturbed though about just how many lads from Derby actually have your phone number sexycoach! Although it might be those cards you had printed for the phoneboxes bearing fruit eventually- see I told you it wasn't a waste of money!
Also I am upset that this lad has actually got 11 friends, I don't think I have ever had 11 friends even in total over my 22 years on this earth so far!! |

I would like to answer that if I may M love.
I had a phone call about 3 weeks ago from a lad from Derby RFC who who wants to leave Derby as he is unhappy and bring approx 11 of his mates with him to set up a Colts team in Ashbourne.
I contacted Martin Fryer with the details and he said he would take it to the committee. They then said that they would place these lads in a 4th/development team and to forward the telephone numbers for those that I have. This I have done and I shall await the results. This number of players is too good an opportunity to miss to swell the ranks shall we say, but lets see how its handled......... |

Just to get back to the original post ie. the naming of the 4th/development team. I would just like to enquire as to where we are getting the players/numbers from. Yes Ashbourne fielded 4 senior teams last year but it was very occasional. To my reckoning the matches were certainly in single figures, this was due (again to my reckoning) to a lack of players (not just from a 4th team perspective but with any absences/injuries in other teams players were leveraged accross all 4 teams) the other reason for the limited amount of games played was because of the difficulty in getting fixtures.
So going forward if the 4th/development team is going to be permanent throughout the 07/08 season where will this team stand regarding priority? If the number of players is insufficient- are other teams such as the 3rd likely to be raided to ensure the fixture list is met?

Congratulations from everyone on your news, it will have no choice as to whether it plays rugby Girl or Boy!!!! Only 3 1/2 years till one will be able to play in the Juniors!!!!! |

Spill sexy-coach who has the role of Godfather within the club Mr Griff has the proud and great task of teaching bump lots of great dance moves and how to talk to sheep on the way home from the pub!!!!!! What a great example he will have on bump, now nick-named wiggles as it's always active I'm convinced it wants to play rugby!!!! |
