As with previous years, Ashbourne RUFC are holding a joint Christmas Draw and this year it will be with the Ashbourne Ex-Servicemen's Club (our new HQ). Tickets for the playing members will be given to their respective captains this week, with each member being allocated 20 books to sell. There will be a prize of two tickets for the Annual Dinner and Dance for the playing member selling the most tickets. The first prize is £100 plus numerous other excellent prizes. We would be pleased to receive any more prizes --Griff is already hard at work speaking to his many contacts trying to obtain prizes. Thanking you all for your support and please sell your allocation of tickets and return them to Mick the knee Pepper ASAP.

All playing members should have received their allocation of Draw Tickets to sell and we hope that every member will make a huge effort to sell the tickets and return them to Mick the knee Pepper ASAP. We would like to have all tickets returned before Friday 22nd December to allow time for folding all the tickets. Two players and their respective better halves are competing for the complimentary Dinner and Dance tickets -with over 80 books each already sold!! Thanks to Simon Griffiths, Steve and Jenny Bembridge and several local firms who have very kindly donated prizes. |

A final reminder to all members to return their tickets and money to Mick Pepper ASAP, preferably before Friday 22nd December. If you are feeling in a good mood, we would be delighted if you could fold the tickets. The Club are still looking for more prizes for the Draw, please drop these with Mick P or bring along to the Ex-Servicemen's Club on Saturday afternoon. Thanking you all for your support. Two playing members are still in the running for most books of tickets sold. |

Is there a plan of attack for Saturday? As in does the draw happen at night or during the kids party and are we still on for a quiz. I do happen to have a babysitter for the night so am all yours (although you may have to share me with everyone else who loves me)

It would be good to hang fire on the draw until the evening. Perhaps more players will be around then (and i'm going to Burnley to watch the mighty Rams!)
Also, quiz sounds like a good idea! Beer prizes of course! |

The format will be as previous years with the children's party starting at approx. 3.30 pm with entertainment, refreshments and of course, the arrival of Santa Claus with all the children's presents. The Draw will take place in the evening and Martin Fryer is organising a quiz for all you very clever members of the Club --counts me out!! We are asking for all the draw tickets and prizes to be given to me before the event to enable us to have a free afternoon from folding tickets. Last year many wonderful ladies assisted me and they would like to have an afternoon's respite before the evening entertainments. Any playing members going to training on Thursday evening can give their sold tickets and monies to Dobbin, who has kindly agreed to deliver these to my house. As yet no member has come forward for the challenge of drinking 13 pints of the black stuff with Sexycoach!! |

I hope sexycoach is not forgetting her responsibilities to the mini rugby community on Sunday morning...
Turning up half cut is not a good example to set to those impressionable little angels who turn up on a Sunday morning... |

Yes ARUFC those very impressionable angels that you always like to run across shark infested waters to get eaten alive without any anaesthetic, followed by 5 laps of the Rec!! I've learnt a lot from you! Will you and your better half be attending the Quiz? |

| We'll be staying as late as is possible until the kids nag us into having to go home - no babysitters on Saturday I'm afraid. Both sets of parents are busy, which is just selfish if you ask me... |
