Don't know about anyone else but am a bit disappointed about the lack of match reports in our local "rag" the Stunner. After paying an extortionate price for it am sick of having to trawl thru at least a page and a half of golf , a full page of junior football , page of senior football , women's hockey , even men's hockey!!!!!(personal opinion gay).Don't know who if anyone at fault but can we as a club do something about it???? Suggest captain or vice nominate someone to write reports and post or e-mail them so the paper once again becomes worth reading.

Good suggestion.
BTW, do you know the scorers from the game at Ashfield so I can put it on the website? You'll no doubt know what your own points tally was... |

mrleech I love the p.c.'ness of your post: "even men's hockey!!!!!(personal opinion gay)" Touch of class!
I must agree though, ARUFC puts out 3.5 teams weekly and all you see in the stunner is articles on Phylis getting into the regional quarter-finals for disabled archery in the 70+ category, either that or little Johnny wins a medal at the "No one else turned up to compete compe--wobbly jelly--ion". What's the point in even having a section on the so called ladies sports such as hockey? most females can't even read and the ones that can won't be interested in such aritcles- get them something interesting to read in the middle pages such as: Knitting patterns Cleaning tips How to give better head etc.

Having seen your comments re: shirts, first aid kit etc, I will gladly highlight these at tonight's exec. meeting. With regards to the match reports,Andrew 'Scoop'Birch has very kindly done match reports for the 1st XV over many years but with his grandparent duties, he now watches the 2nd XV on a regular basis. Do we have any willing volunteers to do the match reports for each team? Reports have to be at the ANT office for Monday morning --but you can now e-mail reports to the office or direct to Burton. The work load within the Club needs to be spread across the membership - perhaps the players can take it in turn to show their literary skills. Read Mick 'the lip' Hope-Smith in the ANT? Took the above from my days as press officer and a poster read: READ MICK 'THE KNEE' PEPPER IN THE ANT |

I have to agree with you Mr Griff it is great to have the forum back up and running!!! I have missed my entertaining reading of the banter that goes on!!!! It brightens up my day! Nice to see in the paper this week we get the same match report over two pages, and two different photo's. A.N.T needs a good kick up the a**e. |

| I actually was going to try to write one for the 4ths this week. I can't remember the login details for the site though. Can someone send them to me again please (in secret obviously). Also if someone, possibly Riff, Barney or Adam has an indea of who was who in the 4ths I will write it up- some new faces etc. The 2 young lads (scrum-half, full-back) and "mike" someone who was front row......oh and there was this french looking geezer that came on second half with legs so bright white they were visible from space!!! |
