On behalf of Sleaford's 2nd team, I,d like to apologise for many of our team who did'nt come back to your place after the match for a drink and a bite to eat, and instead just went home.
This was'nt because we lost and got stroppy about it, rather it was because there was a party for one of our players back at Sleaford and a lot of us just wanted to begin the trek home asap. Personally, I was in a car of 5 who got outvoted as to whether we should stay or go. Sorry this was a little late in coming and look forward to your visit later in the season.

Thanks for this Simon. We realise that it's a bit of a pain getting to our HQ after the match. Hopefully it's worthwhile for all those that can make it.
We've had a few teams this season where no-one at all has come back for a drink and some food after the match, so it was good that some of your team were able to make it.
I played for our 2's against your lot a few weeks back and it was a tough game. After we scored so early in the game I thought that we'd win pretty easy - obviously this was not the case.
Good to see visitors from other clubs on AshTalk.

We knew it would be a tough game. Particularly, as you lot now play in the top pennant league. Even so, we knew it could be won with our best team. However, in typical fashion several players made themselves unavailable for a long away trip and our back line was'nt exactly full of pace. The same happened when we came to you last season!
Saw u had a cracking result against Mansfield 2nds by the way. |
