The Committee would like to thank the members who came along a supported the Luncheon on Saturday. It was great to see officials from Syston Rugby Club, who we wish the very best of luck following their promotion. At least one Leicestershire side likes Ashbourne RUFC and we were presented with a Syston shield, they went away with a teapot!!!
The Club were very pleased to see Stuart Bell and his wife, Pat, who travelled down from Cumbria for the event plus Chris Grindey who came to start his 50th Birthday celebrations with his friends from Ashbourne. Plus many others joined him at Welford Road on Sunday.
Happy 50th Birthday to Chris for 3rd April.
We would like to thank Ridgway Caterers for an excellent lunch and to Emma Heath who worked very hard behind the bar, plus Kath and Phil Bates and as ever Sam and Sue Heath for all their hard work and support.
Last but not least, it was great to see El President, Bill Kent, accompanied by Joyce. Bill is recovering from a knee operation plus shingles --according to Joyce "Bill is like most men --a very bad patient"
P.S. Don't tell Bill --Joyce does the shopping whilst he is asleep, so he doesn't know how long she has been out!!!
Once again, many thanks for continuing to support our events, it is very much appreciated.
